In the groovy year of 1977, behold the birth of a legend - the one and only Vans. Building on its rep, they were even dubbed Style 36, flaunting the iconic Vans sidestripe. As the first-ever skate shoe game-changer, Vans wowed with a fresh low top design and leather panels to boot. Back in '66, the Van Doren Rubber Company kick-started this marvel in Anaheim, and boy, were they onto something special. At first, this masterpiece was just a whimsical sketch by the visionary Paul Van Doren, cheekily labeled the jazz stripe. Fast forward 40 glorious years, and behold the unmistakable insignia of Vans - the iconic sidestripe, forever etched in history.
