In 1977, a remarkable creation emerged: the Vans shoes, initially referred to as Style 36. These kicks proudly displayed the iconic Vans sidestripe that soon gained recognition. Serving as the company's first skate shoe with a low top design, it also incorporated stylish leather panels. The Van Doren Rubber Company, established in 1966 in Anaheim, California, had indeed struck gold with this new, timeless silhouette. What began as a spontaneous doodle by Paul Van Doren, originally called the jazz stripe, has now evolved into the definitive symbol of the extraordinary Vans brand, after more than four decades in the making.
